Last night Her Nightmare and Jungle Fever played with A Secret Death, The Abandonment, Benneson Theory and Coma Lies at the Cambridge in Newcastle.
I missed the Benneson Theory and Coma Lies (except the end of their last song) because I was playing soccer. We were winning 1 -0 the whole game until the last 2 minutes when the other team scored 2 goals. I was furious.
The Abandonment were the first band I saw play a full set and they were pretty impressive. I had never really listened to them but they were very good live. One of the guitarists also had a cracking beard.
A Secret Death....wow. I had listened to them a bit before hand and now I am wishing that I had listened to them a lot. They blew me away. I went and leant on the wall near the front of the stage and my ears were fucking killing me because I was so close. They played a couple of new songs and they were fantastic. I am really looking forward to hearing this new album when it hits the shelves.
Jungle Fever played second last and they were really good. Most of the kids were they just to see them and Her Nightmare, which is kind of disappointing because A Secret Death were so damn good. Jungle Fever played all the songs I wanted to hear and I am looking forward to seeing their final show at Hardcore 08.
Her Nightmare as Crafter has said many times would have to be the toughest band in Australia. They played mostly songs from Come Anarchy Come Ruin but they played a couple of old songs too. One of the highlights of their set was when Baina told the crowd to start a circle pit, so everyone came flying into the middle and I saw some guy get his beer knocked out of his hand, funny for me to see but it would have been shattering for him. I am looking forward to seeing Her Nightmare again at Hardcore 08.
