On the road again...
With the tour starting in Brisbane we had a gnarly start but stopping in Sydney on the first night made the drive a lot more bearable. Hanging at our pal Marty's place in Brisbane and having a day to chill before the first show was really good. Princess Theatre was one of the big shows on this tour, I was pretty apprehensive about how we would go there as the venue was a lot of money to have for the night, and if only 17 kids rocked up we would have been in a little trouble. We met up with our touring buds Nazarite Vow and chowed down then headed back to the show.
There were heaps of kids there by then which was sick. Strength Through Purity weren't able to play as I heard their singer and guitarist were in a car accident which sucked, so Sleepers opened the show followed by a cracking set by Benneson Theory then Naz Vow slayed 400 kids with a stupid amount of energy and a mental show including a girl beating up a dude(I saw it)=best. We played and had a rad time with kids jumping off the stage/speaker box's/other peoples backs/heads. One kid got his tooth knocked out and another broke their ankle doing a backflip off the stage. Head walks were a plenty. Everyone was really siked and it was a rad night.
Next day we played NightLife on the Gold Coast. I was very unsettled by the look of the place and that our band room was under the venue who's floor was held up by a piece
of wedged timber. We asked the guy there 'is this the only extra support for the floor up there?' he replied with 'Nah of course not mate, we have two more in the next room, rock on!' haha.
The Matador wowed everyone with a sick new sound and set, In Hearts Wake were next and got the Gold Coast kids moving with their mosh metalcore, sick response and the room was vibeing. Nazarite Vow started and after the first song they had everyone moving. We played a very sweaty set with stage dives, fists in fans and so on, was amazing.
Sunday we played at a festival called Loud09', it was held in the enormous Gold Coast Convention Center. There were about 100 payers in a 5000 capacity place. We played to about 4 people. Good to see our pals Mourning Tide and got to watch Mammal and Pez which was cool.
Dinner at Hard Rock :)
After a couple of days off and a visit to Byron we are on our way to Sydney and heaps siked for our NSW shows and hanging with freinds.
Peace.
It's a good life if you don't weaken. So I won't weaken.
