Interviews
Lamb Of God
Picking up from where bands like Pantera and Sepultura left off, Lamb Of God have pushed their brand of infectious groove metal to the very forefront of the metal world. The respected Viginian metallers last graced the performance stage right here in Australia, in November 2010 in support of Metallica on the epic World Magnetic Tour. Since then they have turned focus to their seventh studio album 'Resolution', which is due for release this Friday. Just ahead of Lamb Of God's Australian dates with a very metal-orientated Soundwave Festival, drumming whirlwind Chris Adler stopped by Killyourstereo to tell us just how excited they all are.
Lydia
Line-up changes, a break up, a reformation and a new album. This has been Arizona rockers Lydia's world of late, but overcoming the loss of a main song-writer has led to the new record 'Paint It Golden' as well as a visit to our shores early in the new year. KYS had a chat to frontman Leighton Antelman to see how thinngs were going.
La Dispute
It has been three years since La Dispute released their first full length Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair and since then the band have gathered an impressive reputation. Between releases the band put out a bunch of EPs and splits while keeping up a hectic touring schedule before writing and recording their second full length, Wildlife, which dropped in early October. In the month since the release the band haven't stopped, but vocalist Jordan Dreyer took some time out to have a chat with Kill Your Stereo about the writing and recording the album, touring and heading back to Australia.
Lights
Juno Award-winning Canadian Pop sensation. World of Warcraft fanatic. YouTube heart-melt. Lights Army Queen. Whether she's armed with a keytar, an acoustic or the Twin Blades of Azeroth, Lights is fighting a winning battle across the world of electro-pop and social media, showing no signs of calming her storm. On the verge of releasing her second studio record, 'Siberia', we caught up to talk all things gaming, dating, blogging, record-writing and the in-between before it all comes down under in the 2012.
Lo!
Compared to Converge, Breach and Old Man Gloom, Sydney's Lo! have just put out their punishing debut "Look & Behold" through Pelagic Records. With a headlining tour just kicking off now, we caught up with the band's bassist Adrian Shapiro to talk potatoes, Blackwire Records and the band's quest for metallic world domination.
Louder Than Bombs
Louder Than Bombs released their new EP "This Can't Be Everything" through Either/Or Records not long ago, and have causing a bit of a stir since. We caught up with the band's front man Ryan to see what's been happening in the Louder Than Bombs camp.
Lacey
Formed in 2007, Perth boys Lacey have quickly made a name for themselves in their hometown and across Australia. The band released their well-received debut EP "Ropes" last year, and are hotly tipped as one of the country's most exciting new bands. As the band write their first full-length record, we caught up with the band's guitarist and keyboardist Connor to talk Santa, the XX and gladiator battles.
La Dispute
La Dispute are already Michigan’s most interesting band and are quickly becoming the name on everybody’s lips. Their impressive and ever-expanding discography, featuring the recent split with their friends in Touche Amore, continues to turn heads and resonate with thinkers the world over. Having toured in 2009, the boys will return to Australia in early 2011 for a tour with Brisvegas’ own To The North. We caught up with La Dispute’s drummer Brad to talk Final Fantasy, abandoned houses and Tegan and Sara.
Legions
Whilst their ages combined would comprise a figure smaller than the weight of their riffs, Sydney hopefuls, Legions, have outlined a mature approach to music and live performance which has cemented their presence in the minds of hardcore fans of all ages throughout the country. With only a demo under their belts and a 7" underway, we caught up with Owen of this handsome five-piece to see what's cooking in their teenage minds and planned for their future of their teenage lives.
Lovers Grave
The annual Push Over Festival is set to take place on Sunday March 7th and we caught up with Melbourne's Lovers Grave to chat about it all...
