Originally signed to Epitaph their releases throughout the 90's formed part of the hugely influential wave of Epitaph and Fat Wreck Chords bands that enjoyed success throughout Australia. The Amity Affliction
It’s perhaps a gross understatement and equally redundant phrasing, but Australia’s The Amity Affliction are one the hottest bands at the moment. A national headline tour kicking off this month and a spot on Soundwave 2013 announced, the group is well positioned. With their new album ‘Chasing Ghosts’ hitting stores this week, Killyourstereo caught up with guitarist Troy Brady to get the lowdown on all things Amity.
The Smith Street Band
The Smith Street Band are truly one of the most honest, hardworking, and likable bands in the country. Within a short time they’ve earned themselves the reputation as being one of Australia's best and brightest new offerings. Following on from their 2011 release ‘No One Gets Lost Anymore’, coupled with a growing fan base, new release 'Sunshine and Technology' positions the band nicely. It's a full-length that promises to deliver more of the same earnest, melodically rich and lyrically brilliant anthems that have earned them praise and a slot at Gainsvilles ‘Fest’. We caught up with front man Wil Wagner to get a bit of backgorund on the band's origins and rise to success.
Transit
Boston's Transit have just finished up a stint on the Van's Warped Tour, and will now be making the trip to Australia for the very first time. We caught up with the band's guitarist and vocalist Tim Landers ahead of the tour to discuss the run of dates, as well as the band's fantastic new album "Listen & Forgive", which is out now through Rise Records.
