Foo Fighters have confirmed that the making of their upcoming eighth album, due out later this year, will be released as a HBO series.

The series will show the band recording the album in eight different cities across the US – Chicago, Austin, Nashville, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington, DC and New York. Each city's recording session will take place at some of the biggest and most well-known studios within each area. One song was recorded in each city, with every song featuring at least one local well-known artist to contribute to the songs.

Furthermore, the bands frontman, Dave Grohl, will also interview different artists from each city to show the context and back story of each artist, city, and what sound and tone the band will be trying to capture on each individual song.
