In the light of recent line-up changes, Californian metal outfit Lifeforms have decided to reinvent themselves with a new moniker and a new album.

The four-piece made the announcement on Friday regarding the depurate of their drummer Trevor Richardson and guitarist Arik Okray, and the re-joining of ex-members Erik Rodriguez and Josh Miller, which you can find below.

"Hey guys, big news on the front of the future of LIFEFORMS. We are sad to say that we have parted ways with our drummer, Trevor Richardson, and our guitarist, Arik Okray. It was a mutual decision between all parties and we are parting with no bad blood. We wish them both the best in their future musical endeavors and are still good friends with both of them. With that being said, we are continuing LIFEFORMS in a new light and combining forces with ex-guitarist, Erick Rodriguez(writer of "Home" from Multidimensional), and ex-drummer, Josh Miller. We are very very excited about the future of the band, and we know you guys will be nothing short of surprised and just as excited as we are. Stay tuned for more news and info regarding new music to be released within the next coming months!"

Now to much more recent events, the band addressed fans on Facebook mere hours ago with their plans for the future, namely to continue on under the name Ghost/Aeon. This new band, which will still play Lifeforms brand of progressive metal, will drop their new album, 'Metanoia' (originally called 'Abysswalker') later this, and you can find that statement.

"In light of recent news, we thought as a band, that the best decision for us was to rebrand ourselves due to all of the recent changes we have made. From here on out, the band that has been known as LIFEFORMS will be moving forward as Ghost/Aeon. In addition to the band name change, we have also changed the name of our upcoming release. The album will no longer be called ABYSSWALKER and will be called Metanoia(change in one's way of life resulting from penitence or spiritual conversion.) We feel this change is necessary to the growth of the band, and are very excited to start releasing new material to you guys!"

The track list for the new album is below:

1. Diverge

2. Believe

3. 1000 Eyes

4. Awaken

5. Sinking

6. Metanoia

7. Lost
