Former Blink-182 and current Angels & Airwaves frontman Tom DeLonge has announced his new 'Sekret Machines' project.

The project takes the form of a transmedia series, which will involve books, a documentary and music from Angels & Airwaves. Its first release will be 'Sekret Machines Book 1: Chasing Shadows', which is a 704-page hardcover novel that drops on April 5th. It was written by DeLonge and A.J. Hartley, who authored the Darwen Arkwright series. Pre-order it here.

On the book, DeLonge has commented that it took him 'one year to make relationships inside the Department of Defense and meet the people in charge of this topic', but he wanted 'to tackle the subject of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena because it seems so unbelievable'. He also noted that he 'knew the story was fantastic regardless if you believed it or not'.

Meanwhile, Blink-182 have moved onto recording their next album without DeLonge, replacing him instead with Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba. View their recent studio updates here.
