Iowa masked metal favourites Slipknot have announced their return to Australia.

Good morning, Iowa masked metal favourites Slipknot have announced their return to Australia.

Fittingly, the band comes Down Under for the halloween period, with the group to perform on a three-show east coast run this October.

Having teased an Australian tour - via some vague posters, which recently appeared around town - the confirmed dates were officially announced this morning. The visit marks the band's first performances in Australia since 2015's Soundwave festival.

Slipknot released their current studio album, '.5: The Gray Chapter', in 2014.

It has been a busy week for the 'Knot, with the band also announcing their partnership with Ozzfest, for a two-day event, to be held in the US this September.

Tour dates:

Saturday October 29 - Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney

Monday October 31 (Melbourne Cup Eve) - Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
