There's a big reason that everyone and their dog in the Melbourne area sweats this band to no end.

Melbourne's The Great City have outdone themselves with their latest & greatest - 'I Will Survive Failure'.

As some may not know, the band's full name is The Woman You Saw Is The Great City That Rules Over The Kings Of The Earth, which is totally not a mouth full to say and won't elicit blank, confusing stares from people you try to explain the name too.

Moving quickly onwards, 'I Will Survive Failure' or as I colloquially refer to it, 'We Will Collaborate With Half Of Belle Haven', is a fucking great release. With only four songs and a run time of around 20 minutes, the band's blend of aggressive old-school metalcore/post-hardcore along with their beautiful, serene melodic instrumentals has never been as potent as it is right here.

Belle Haven's David & Christopher Vernon (ol' CV also produced & mixed this new EP) as well as Belle Haven guitarist Daniel Marinakis all feature throughout the EP, all adding further weight and impact to the proceedings. It was also mastered by Ermin Hamidovic, who much like Vernon's mixing and engineering, has really done the band's music justice.

Now I'm not telling you how to think but sweet shit, the seven-minute epic of 'Nothing Is Alone' is in-fucking-sanely good. Seriously, that song is the band's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and it alone is worth your time and you throwing the band a couple bucks. As such, head on over to their Bandcamp Page to pick up the new release, or simply stream it below. Then you can go and grab a copy!
