Make sure you go see one of Sydney's better punk rock bands for the final time as they support both Scott Reynolds and Anti-Flag in December.

After 11 years together writing and playing loud and motivated punk rock, Sydney's Liberation Front are calling it a day come this December, as they provide a solid support slot for both Scott Reynolds and Anti-Flag.

Liberation Front's final shows will be their penultimate performance at the Cambridge Hotel, Newcastle, on December 6th with fellow supporting locals Introvert, and then their final show will be at Sydney's Factory Theatre with Nerdlinger on December 8th.

This punk rock outfit is made up of guitarist/lead vocalist Tim Rowland, bassist/vocalist Dane Tutty, guitarist Marc Rookes and drummer Damien McCluer, and they formed way back in 2005. As for why you should see these guys off at either (or both) of their final shows, the band delivers short and fast yet engaging punk rock tunes all complete with tight melodic hooks, creating songs that never outstay their welcome, and they give off a real sense of energy live.

Of course, coming with this genre's territory, their music takes on a host of worldly issues, but they tend to typically deal with what I like to call The Three C's of punk rock; capitalism, corruption, and community. Their 2008 self-titled release had these among its content and it wasn't half bad... if a little rough around the edges sonically speaking. But their 2013 release, 'The Second Coming Of The Great Depression' fixed that production issue and is a great example of these Three C's, as the band rips through six politically charged yet anthemic punk rock tunes, of which definitely take some big thematic and musical cues from the likes of Anti-Flag; most of which they should be playing at these final two shows. Now, considering that these guys have actually toured with Anti-Flag before, that marks these final two shows as a rather fitting end to the Sydney outfit's life as a band, supporting their heroes and a key musical influence in what will ostensibly be, the final milestone for this group as it were. So after all these years, catch you on the flipside, guys!
