Parkway Drive Announce “A Decade Of Horizons” Australian Tour

From ‘Begin’ and ‘The Siren’s Song’ right through to ‘Horizons’, baby.

When Unify 2018 was first announced and Parkway Drive were billed to play their now ten-year-old sophomore LP ‘Horizons‘ in full, as if no one didn’t see this headline tour coming!

A decade ago on this very day October 6th, Parkway Drive refined and tightened what 2005’s ‘Killing With A Smile‘ first started, just in a far heavier, more memorable manner by releasing their mammoth second record, ‘Horizons‘. Debuting at #6 on the ARIA Charts, the now gold-certified ‘Horizons‘ features some of Parkway’s most well-known material, namely ‘Carrion‘, ‘Boneyards‘, and ‘Dead Man’s Chest‘. But, of course, you all already knew that!

While the PR has labelled this anniversary tour (sans Perth) as just “showcasing songs from the much-loved album” I’m just personally stoked that now the band may have to play ‘Five Months‘ and ‘Frostbite‘ – two of my favourite Parkway deep cuts. Parkway’s recent sell-out headline run across Europe and the US of A has become the band’s biggest, most explosive production and pyrotechnic-heavy live show to date. And me thinks that such massive live production will be in store for all die-hard fans and mosh-primed punters come January 2018.

Sydney up and coming five-piece Polaris will be supporting Parkway Drive on all of these 2018 dates and will be releasing their own debut full-length – ‘The Mortal Coil‘ – on November 3rd via Resist Records. A younger but no less fitting peer for the Byron Bay boys to bring along!

It’s just a real shame that the actual Parkway Drive street sign hasn’t lived to see this announcement, with the Byron Bay council removing the sign indefinitely due to eager fans and punters continually stealing it over the years. RIP, you small yet great piece of Aussie heavy music.

They’ll probably play the album in full and 5 or so other tracks. The run time is just shy of 40 minutes. This album was huge in every way. Kinda lost me after this release

Yeah, that’ll be the go, kinda like what New Found Glory did on their Aussie tour this year.

I enjoyed KWAS and Horizons is fucking solid, but Deep Blue is my fave release, easily.

I always thought Parkway sounding worse and worse was just me growing out of heavy music cause they’re more popular than ever.
