A record that is widely considered one of the most influential albums in the entire history of black metal, Mayhem's 1994 debut record 'De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas' is as revered and as they come for the genre. Yet in tour news that's come out of fucking nowhere, the controversial Norwegian band will actually be touring the album across Australia come January 2018.
There's nothing quite like extreme, satanic black metal for the summer times!
A release that recorded in bleak and turbulent times, during which the suicide of vocalist 'Dead' and the murder of guitarist 'Euronymous' delayed the release by numerous years, and was the only Mayhem record to feature Aarseth and the nutcase himself, Varg "Count Grishnackh" Vikernes. Many label it as the single most important album in black metal's history, and with good reason; it's a release that set the tone, the sound and musical ideals for this genre for years to come. Songs like 'Funeral Fog' and 'Freezing Moon' have become classics of not only the band's career but also that of the wide genre they exist within.
Featuring the band's iconic members Atilla Csihar, Necrobutcher and Hellhammer, Mayhem's 2018 Australian tour is going to be a killer black metal time.
