Soundwave 2012 releases second announcement

The second round of acts for next year's Soundwave Festival has been released, with another 22 bands joning  the gargantuan lineup that already boasts the likes of System Of A Down, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit and Marilyn Manson.

The full second announcement for Soundwave 2012 is:

Bad Religion, Strung Out, Staind, Wednesday 13, Unearth, The Pretty Reckless, Cathedral, Shadows Fall, Tonight Alive, Motinless In White, Break Even, Heaven Shall Burn, Your Demise, A Rocket To The Moon, The Ready Set, The Menzingers, Dream On Dreamer, Kittie, Dredg, Attack! Attack!The Smoking Hearts and The Summer Set.

These 22 bands join the already announced line up of System Of A DownSlipknotLimp BizkitMarylin MansonA Day To RememberMachine Head, Lamb Of God, Trivium, Alter Bridge, Lostprophets, Angels & Airwaves, Cobra Starship, The Used, You Me At Six, Devin Townsend Project, Unwritten Law, Coal Chamber, Dashboard Confessional, Thursday, Forever The Sickest Kids, Raised Fist, Dillinger Escape Plan, Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society, Mastodon, Underoath, Saves The Day, Circa Survive, Steel Panther, Jack's Mannequin, Meshuggah, The Sisters Of Mercy, Enter Shikari, Four Year Strong, Black Veil Brides, Madina Lake, Zebrahead, Hatebreed, Biohazard, Times Of Grace, CKY, Street Dogs, Dragonforce, Gojira, Kvelertak, Letlive, Hellyeah, Cro-Mags, The Cab, Relient K, Versa Emerge, Heroes For Hire, Kill Hannah, The Dangerous Summer, Chimaira, Framing Hanley, Watain, Royal Republic, I Am The Avalanche, Turisas and River City Extension.

Soundwave Touring owner AJ Maddah has also said that there will be another 5 bands released in a third announcement later this year. Heavily rumoured for this announcement is Ronnie Radke's new project Falling In Reverse, who have been unable to tour due to visa trouble sparked by Radke's criminal history. Maddah has reassured fans of the band on twitter, stating that these issues are "99.99% resolved."

General release tickets go on sale at 9 am local time tomorrow from Ticketek and the Soundwave Festival website.

Saturday February 25 - RNA Showgrounds, Brisbane
Sunday February 26 - Olympic Park, Sydney
Friday March 2 - Showgrounds, Melbourne
Saturday March 3 - Bonython Park, Adelaide
Monday March 5 - Claremont Showgrounds, Perth

didnt they break up^^ or change their name or something? So much for this announcement being full of punk! only punk in it is Bad Religion, who I am so keen for but what hoping for more..... thanks a lot AJ.

it wasn't meant to be a punk announcement, just "punkier" and compared to the first lineup announcement AJ was true to his word.

Its good yes but not necessarily needed-80+ bands is very choc full,clashes will be beyond ineviatable now-really doesnt help when u like a broad variety of bands

@PunkRawk101 (15): I really do agree with you. at this rate they future soundwave announcement will look like this "He guys, we are happy to announce soundwave 2034 with 1489 bands and ticket costs will be $4912+BF, we can justify this because we have so many bands playing, now please pay for a ticket"
