"Petey is leaving in early January to live, study and vegan straight edge in Sweden. Soooo this means we need a new bass player. You don't actually need to be into the vegan straight edge or economics. But you will need to be able to practice, play shows/tour, record and contribute musically and financially. Having bass gear or getting some soon would probably be a good idea too."

Norway's Satyricon are a rare exception to the Black Metal norm – they never cared for trends in how one is supposed to present oneself and abhorred the tried and tested genre stereotypes.   What became apparent on previous album Now, Diabolical is now a dark truth on new album The Age Of Nero, their second through Roadrunner Records.  Largely written in a remote cabin deep in the...

"I'm pushing myself to be progressive in songwriting and being a songwriter. I come from a culture where I'm into great albums, and I still believe in that. I'm fiddling more with the arrangements and writing songs. I think the way we make records is just kind of a classic way of making records. Everybody uses Pro Tools now, you know--we use Pro Tools, and we use tape. "
