Grimes Australian tour to go ahead despite European cancellations

Canadian dream pop artist Grimes will go ahead with her scheduled Australian tour dates despite recently cancelling 13 upcoming European shows due to “health issues”.

Grimes – real name Clare Boucher – took to Twitter yesterday to announce the cancellation of her European tour, due to commence November 13 and conclude December 1. While Boucher doesn’t clarify exactly what “health issues” entails, we’re assuming it’s connected to her ongoing problems with the hearing disorder tinnitus (a ringing in the ears experienced when no external physical noise is present), which forced her to reschedule Canadian dates last month.

However, despite the recent cancellations coming very close to her first scheduled appearance at Melbourne's Corner Hotel on December 5, local tour promoter Penny Drop has told Fasterlouder that Grimes’ debut Australian tour dates are “definitely going ahead”.

In addition to appearing at the Meredith Music Festival (December 7 - 9), Grimes will perform headline shows in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.

Grimes Australia tour:

Wednesday 5 December – Corner Hotel, Melbourne
Thursday 6 December – Corner Hotel, Melbourne
Saturday 8 December – The Zoo, Brisbane
Monday 10 December – OAF, Sydney
Tuesday 11 December – OAF, Sydney
