Legendary post-rock pioneers Explosions In The Sky will return to Australia for a five-date run of shows in service of most recent full-length The Wilderness, including a dual outing in Melbourne.

The veteran outfit will take on their impending Australian sojourn in February next year, encompassing performances at The Gov, in Adelaide, two shows at the Melbourne Recital Centre, one at the Sydney Opera House, and a concluding showing at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) in Brisbane.

The iconic Texan outfit released The Wilderness as their first non-soundtrack recording since 2011's acclaimed Take Care, Take Care, Take Care, having spent the interim time plying their voluminous talents to scoring several cinematic works, including 2013's Prince Avalanche and Lone Survivor, as well as 2014's Manglehorn (they first whetted their appetite for such pursuits as the band primarily responsible for Friday Night Lights' distinctive soundtrack back in 2004).

Explosions In The Sky are no strangers to Australian shores; whether you've previously caught them at a headline show or on a festival such as when they played Splendour In The Grass in 2012, you would know that this band never fails to deliver emotive and enchanting live performances, and they're all set to do just that when they make their return early next year.
