The political rap-rock supergroup will release their debut full-length this September

More Prophets Of Rage More Prophets Of Rage

Socially conscious supergroup Prophets Of Rage have announced the release details for their eagerly awaited self-titled debut album, revealing the Michael Moore-directed video clip for its lead track, Unfuck The World, for good measure.

The band — which comprises Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk, with B-Real of Cypress Hill and Public Enemy's Chuck D and DJ Lord — will release Prophets Of Rage in Australia on Friday 15 September, via Sony Music Australia.

The news also entails the unveiling of the album's cover art, created by renowned street artist (and Vivid Sydney drawcard) Shepard Fairey and evokes several elements of RATM and Public Enemy's old imagery signifying the unification of the legendary outfits: the former's 'star' logo, the closed-fist iconography of their old tour posters and the silhouette on The Battle Of Los Angeles, the colour scheme and artistic style of the Che Guevara-emblazoned Bombtrack single; the latter's stencil-font logo, just to name a few.

For his part, Moore is no stranger to working with three-fifths of the Prophets Of Rage, having previously served as director for Rage Against The Machine's Sleep Now In The Fire and Testify clips.

Enthusing in a statement that he was "thrilled to once again be working with my old friends and comrades in the struggle for a just world", Moore said: "Prophets Of Rage is the right band, saying the right shit, at this very critical moment."

"This music video is our collective battle cry against those who seek to harm the innocent and the powerless," he said. "I am proud to have directed this video and I ask all who see it do their part to unfuck this world. All hands on deck!"

The band have announced their intention to take their grassroots grooves global on an international tour in the near future, so while we wait for that news to eventuate, hook in to Unfuck The World below and set your reminders for 15 September.
