After five years with Wollongong outfit Totally Unicorn, guitarist Kerim Erkin has stepped down “effective immediately”.

In a lengthy statement posted to the band's Facebook, Erkin said the decision was made with a “heavy heart” and listed a wealth of praise to his fellow bandmates and accompanying their team.

“It has been such a fucking wild, amazing journey and I will forever feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience it all,” Erkin said.

It’s the second member to depart the band this year, with drummer and founding member Michael Bennett announcing his farewell in a similar fashion back in February.
