"Scything melodic riffage, Lindberg’s distinctive shriek, a clutch of creepy intros and catchy yet pummelling rhythms."

More At The Gates More At The Gates

It’s funny how things change. When Slaughter Of The Soul was released in 1995 it was received warmly but if truth be told, it was just another competent slab of Iron Maiden-influenced Swedeath.

In 2014 the album is “legendary” thanks to the fact that an army of metalcore bands decided to nick its riffs and add them to shitty breakdowns. At War With Reality will please devotees of the overrated Slaughter…. All the elements are there: scything melodic riffage, Lindberg’s distinctive shriek, a clutch of creepy intros and catchy yet pummelling rhythms.
