Bring Me The Horizon - Sempiternal
It's lose/lose for a band like Bring Me The Horizon, for if they were to stay the same, people would complain about their lack of maturity and likely lose interest. If they make a serious change, like they have on 'Sempiternal,' the diehards will dismiss them as sell-outs for the mainstream sound they are now trying for. Put all of that crap aside however, and you will find a successful heavy band, toggling the line between their roots and commercial appeal in the hopes of bringing the genre into the mainstream, something we should all support considering what fills the airwaves currently.

Bullet For My Valentine - Temper Temper
Bullet For My Valentine seems to have an acute and effective understanding of song structure and the genre itself. They are arguably in their prime – a nice mix of experience and motivation. However, this never seems to match-up with the finished product. It is not to say that ‘Temper Temper’ is laboured, but for a metal record it should achieve a lot more than what is presented here.

Birds Of Tokyo - March Fires
'March Fires' is the kind of album that Birds Of Tokyo fans who were tiring of the band will love as it truly stands alone as something unique in the band's catalogue. It will also be very easy for newcomers to find something here that they will enjoy, so expect to hear plenty of this on the airwaves.

Bad Religion - True North
Saying Bad Religion are comfortable in their own skin is a gross understatement. ‘True North’ is a band not looking at changing the dynamic but rather honing it. It is presented in simple form and will serve as a humble collection of tracks for long-time fans.

Biffy Clyro - Opposites
Apart from the moments mentioned here, the songs are fairly standard Biffy - rock music with quirk, which is a good thing as Neil can pen a very interesting tune. it just may not be worthy of the hype that the band and their promotional materials have created. It may be a completely different story upon the inclusion of disc two however, which could make it a masterpiece.

Broadway Calls - Comfort/Distraction
'Comfort/Distraction' is a record that sees a band starting to really come into their own and find a sound they truly feel comfortable with – albeit if it's taken a few albums to get there. What's left is a fun, catchy and refreshingly raw pop-punk record.

Blink-182 - Dogs Eating Dogs
Anyone who expected Blink-182 to sound like they did back in the 'Dude Ranch' days, or even worse, got angry at them when they didn't, is an idiot. 'Dogs Eating Dogs' features enough elements that should keep those still aching for three chord pop punk wonders happy, while keeping on track with the band's current progression and maturity.

Burning Fiction - The Story Will Continue...
A lot of bands used to sound like this, but there aren't that many (good ones) around anymore. This is why Burning Fiction's new 10" provides equal doses of nostalgia and enjoyment from an Australian band that are extremely capable of creating some great rock music with original touches.

Being As An Ocean - Dear G-d
The momentum of ‘Dear G-d’ is one that may exhaust many listeners, and enthuse others. Just like Tolstoy's War and Peace isn’t to be thought of as ‘light reading,’ Being As An Ocean’s debut release isn’t exactly what you’d call background music. If you are, however, willing to sit down and lend your ears, you’re in for one hell of a ride.

Blood Red Shoes - Water (EP)
There’s not much of an overview required for a three-track release. ‘Water’ is just a neat little offering to add to the collection. Nothing more, nothing less.
