Daylight - Jar
One could logically equate the evolution and maturity found on 'Jar' to that of the last efforts from Title Fight and labelmates Basement with most recent albums 'Floral Green' and 'Colourmeinkindness', respectively. The band hold onto the accessible catchiness, the driven, energetic passion and sombre lyrical content of their prior releases – kicking each up a notch as well as exploring a sound largely ignored in contemporary punk. In doing so, they've released of the most captivating records of the year thus far.

Deez Nuts - Bout It
Deez Nuts have crafted an album that is worthy of a listen. The band might have a relaxed and party persona, but the music is written and performed in a professional sense.

D at Sea - Unconscious
The initial taste of D at Sea’s original material in the shape of ‘Unconscious’ has left an impression that will last, and simultaneously established one of the scenes most promising Australian artists as no longer a dabbler in covers, but an accomplished singer/song writer in his own right who will soon have both hardcore kids and fans of the acoustic eagerly awaiting his next move.

Defeater - Defeater Live on BBC Radio 1
It’s safe to say that if you weren’t already a fan of Defeater’s modest, energetic approach to making music, after hearing the impressive four song appetiser that is Defeater Live On BBC Radio 1, you’re bound to be following them as excitedly as the rest of us. Defeater have well and truly found their mark in hardcore and, if their live EP is a forecast of what is to come, will surely continue to do so in 2013.

Dropkick Murphys - Signed and Sealed in Blood
Dropkick Murphys show that a tried and true sound can continually deliver the goods. Sure, you know what to expect and equally you know what you’re getting. But, as long as the music is honest and the sound dynamic then the reception will remain in the positive column.

Dissipate - Tectonics (EP)
This avant-garde take on djenty deathcore may not be for everyone, but the bottom line is that it's an intricately composed and refreshingly original EP.

Death Audio - Death Audio
Another quality Australian release to add to the already extensive local pile in 2012. Death Audio’s self-titled debut is consistent and that is arguably the most important thing here.

Deftones - Koi No Yokan
‘Koi No Yokan’ is the result of a band playing music in an energised way. The sound is similar to past feats but feels equally fresh. What the album represents is another fitting chapter in Deftones’ catalogue.

Deafheaven/Bosse-de-Nage - Split (EP)
The sky is simply the limit for Deafheaven. Some bands just create a fan out of the listener in a purely superficial and literal way. While, some demand unconditional attention through their innovation and progression. Deafheaven again deliver. Bosse-de-Nage provide the perfect tag-team and support here. When coupled together this is a solid EP.
