Interpol - Interpol
This album is neither a step forward nor a step backwards for Interpol- it’s more of cautious sidestep to allow the band to reassess their position in today’s alternative music scene. It adheres to their renowned post-punk style, but its sprawling, dark compositions often lack the infectious hooks that made their previous albums memorable. It’s trademark Interpol for sure, but in contrast with previous achievements, it falls short of its effort to epitomize the best elements of the band.

I Call Fives - Bad Advice
This EP shows that I Call Fives have the song writing ability and potential to be one of the biggest and best bands in the pop punk genre today. If the band can produce a full-length of the same quality, there will be absolutely nothing stopping them from reaching the stars.

In This Defence - Survivors
Listening to this EP several times, I am able to say with confidence that In This Defence are one of the new breed of Australian Hardcore/Rock bands that are destined to change the current Australian music scene.
Their recorded music is nothing to the energy and power that they convey as a group when seen on a live stage. I would highly recommend everyone give this EP a spin.
In This Defence are undeniably here to stay.

In a round-about way this is an absolutely nut-pummelling offering from this veteran line-up. The lads have come up with a sound that is unique even if their influences and backgrounds might be pretty blatantly obvious in places. Expect to see these guys playing much further toward the headlining end of the big gigs from now on.

While the direction of previous releases
has been questionable to say the least, this is the first record where
In Flames fuck the fans that made them the mega force they have become
with this shameless attempt to tap into the radio-metal market. The
worst thing about “A Sense Of Purpose” is that I really want to
like this record but after defining an entire genre of metal with albums
like “Colony” and “Whoracle”, such a lackluster release is unacceptable.
