Jade Monkey - Smile
“Smile” is definitely a promising offering from a relatively unknown young band. Jade Monkey display a talent for writing solid, catchy pop punk tunes which avoid recycling too many of the tired clichés of said genre. There’s many a hook on this record to have you humming for months and if this is sign of things to come, then bring it on. An impressive debut effort, “Smile” will have you doing just that.

Jack The Stripper - Black Annis
The fusion of so many elements proves JTS have taken a punt on a sound they can confidently claim is purely their own, producing a record exactly how they want it to sound. It's a pretty ballsy move for a debut release, but damn-straight it's warranted.
You really need to listen for yourself to truly understand the type of experimentation I'm talking about. Even better, check 'em out live for the genuine JTS experience.

Job for a Cowboy - Ruination
Ruination is a release that clearly shows a matured group that is capable of keeping up with even the most established bands in this genre.

Johnny Traunt - In The Library Of Horrific Events
The standout on this track has to be vocalist Olly. The band’s previous work was fairly one dimensional when it came to the vocal department however Olly spends 40 minutes showcasing a range of screams, growls and shrieks that would make most front men jealous. Another thing I found impressive was the use of his voice in the album’s melodic passages – no cheesy, cliché clean vocals but something more akin to what you’d find on an Isis record.
