Ne Obliviscaris - Portal of I

Ne Obliviscaris - Portal of I

21.05.2012 | Kane_H | 0 Comments

Ne Oblivisicaris present an album that justifies early praise and should serve as representation of a band doing things the right way. Perhaps it's an entirely subjective and early call, but this is one of, if not, the Australian metal album of the year.

No Trigger - Tycoon

No Trigger - Tycoon

Many gave up hope due to the huge gap between No Trigger records but 'Tycoon' is their finest release to date. Whilst the style does not vary drastically between tracks, the level of songwriting that the group are currently capable of ensures that there is never a boring moment, with enough sections to stay stuck in the mind.

No Way Out - Dead Ends

No Way Out - Dead Ends

24.10.2011 | LukeC | 0 Comments

‘Dead Ends’ has a strong sound from a band that have clearly worked hard to get to where they are currently, but I will say, nine tracks ranging from one to four minutes isn’t really a “full length” album. Come on guys, I know it’s expensive to make these things but would the extra track really have been that hard? That aside, this record is worth checking out and should help raise No Way Out’s presence in the hardcore scene exponentially.

Nightrage - Insidious

'Insidious' doesn't really bring anything new to the table. Essentially, it's a representation of what's come before it. However, this is not a point of detraction. When what's preceded this type of release is of a high quality, a slight replication still provides its own highlights and enjoyable moments.

New Found Glory - Radiosurgery

New Found Glory - Radiosurgery

09.10.2011 | maxw | 1 Comments

On “Radiosurgery”, New Found Glory openly set out to do a throwback album and have essentially delivered just that. While stylistically and structurally this record harks way back into the band’s own past and influences, Jordan’s vocals provide just enough continuity with recent releases. Put simply, “Radiosurgery” is well-executed, old-style pop punk that again shows whatever they do, these dudes can write a damn good tune.

Never Shout Never - Time Travel

Never Shout Never - Time Travel

Never Shout Never are advancing and doing their best to keep themselves relevant by finding new musical ground to tread however the underlying elements, essentially all Christofer Drew related, are still present. So if he is not someone you like, it is doubtful that will ever change regardless of how it is wrapped, but if you can get past that, then there is worse music out there than this.

Norther - Circle Regenerated

Norther - Circle Regenerated

28.04.2011 | Kane_H | 0 Comments

Under the circumstances 'Circle Regenerated' should be lauded for its enduring nature. Norther could easily be forgiven for throwing in the towel prior to this release. Thankfully there is still some fight. The Finnish outfit have essentially been underrated for most of their career. Let's hope they can get back to a stronger sound going forward in order to receive some much deserved credit.

Nonpoint - Miracle

Nonpoint - Miracle

Nonpoint served up what is likely the best they’ve got left with ‘Miracle’. It’s their seventh record, and unfortunately falls flat on its face for too much of it, following a promising enough start with “Shadow”. Their attempt at a Pantera classic is respectable enough, though it isn’t enough to save the record which had lost me after twenty solid minutes of filler.

No Bragging Rights - Illuminator

There is most likely a reason why many people probably haven’t heard much about this band, although I feel they have great potential they seem to fall a little bit short, each song starts off promising with intentions to be a great song but I am left disappointed. I continued through the album almost hoping that they would live up to the potential shown in the beginning of the record but it doesn’t seem to happen.
