"A messy, unfocussed, part pop metal, part metalcore slap."

More Of Mice & Men More Of Mice & Men

Cold World's release in the US — blundered by defective CDs — isn't the only problem troubling Californian metalheads Of Mice & Men.

Singer Austin Carlile's health and personal problems continue to fuel the growls that has helped carve Of Mice & Men's knuckles, but his surprising conversion to Christianity has softened the blows. The result is a messy, unfocussed, part pop metal, part metalcore slap. Opening with the restrained Game Of War is ironically the most sincere four minutes on offer in a collection of otherwise predictable and insipid noises to kill time until the next Bring Me The Horizon record.
