Perspectives - Blind

Perspectives - Blind

19.05.2013 | TashS | 1 Comments

Perspectives aren’t really doing anything dramatically different from other bands in their genre; all the raw materials are the same, but the craftsmanship and dedication of the lads in Perspectives means that the end product becomes something special.

Paint It Black - Invisible

Paint It Black - Invisible

14.04.2013 | BlakeG | 0 Comments

With 'Invisible', Paint It Black paint a portrait of a band that has maintained the ferocity and awareness of their earlier work while bringing something fresh to the table. The time away has served Yemin and co. well, with this EP firmly cementing the band as one of the most interesting and engaging modern hardcore bands active.

Paramore - Paramore

Paramore - Paramore

13.04.2013 | h0lywood | 3 Comments

This self-titled album shows a wide exploration into different sounds for the band from rock to acousitc and electronic elements. While the album reaches different ends of the music spectrum, one things for sure, Paramore sure know how to make a catchy song filled with emotion. Althought if you were on the look out for the next 'Misery Buisness' to jump around and sing to you might be out of luck on this one.

Pissed Jeans - Honeys

Pissed Jeans - Honeys

10.03.2013 | BlakeG | 0 Comments

'Honeys' takes and polishes everything enjoyable about the past few Pissed Jeans records to deliver their most interesting and – plainly – best album to date. In a scene with so much stagnancy, bands like Pissed Jeans are incredibly refreshing.

Puscifer - Donkey Punch The Night

Puscifer - Donkey Punch The Night

22.02.2013 | LukeC | 0 Comments

It's a bit of a lazy release for Pusicifer considering there are only two new original songs on this "EP" which is priced the same as an LP. Regardless, Puscifer do, and always will do, whatever they want, and as per usual, it is worth your time.

'The Smoke Will Clear' delivers a more mature and polished sound of a band that aims write music to perform live and have, while doing so, unwittingly become martyrs for punk in the Australian live music scene.

Pentimento - Pentimento

Pentimento - Pentimento

16.12.2012 | Natasha | 0 Comments

Pentimento’s debut full length is equal parts reflection and rage, holding all its power in its authenticity. It’s not a perfect album, but it’s a solid effort. Having set a high standard for themselves with their first record, this band are undoubtedly one to keep an eye on.

Pig Destroyer - Book Burner

Pig Destroyer - Book Burner

06.11.2012 | mblack | 0 Comments

Pig Destroyer have managed to do a rare thing with 'Book Burner', which is to present grindcore as an art form. It's imbued with a cinematic aesthetic, both in terms of structure and texture, and while it may initially come across as raw and unrestrained, it gradually reveals itself to be the result of a considered and deliberate approach to the genre.

Pro Team - Fault Lines (EP)

Pro Team - Fault Lines (EP)

28.10.2012 | Kane_H | 0 Comments

‘Fault Lines’ is a retentive listen that is another solid home grown release. It doesn’t masquerade, but instead presents something very respectable. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel or offer any new takes on innovation, but the EP still provides a suitable spin on the player.

Parkway Drive - Atlas

Parkway Drive - Atlas

26.10.2012 | Nash | 17 Comments

It is clear from their occasional use of diverse instrumentation and experimentation with different guitar tones that Parkway Drive were trying to mix up the formula with ‘Atlas’. Unfortunately, the songwriting fails to match the catchiness and accessibility of their previous albums, all too often resembling bastardised versions of fan favourites. Nothing could detract from the undoubted musical ability that Parkway Drive possess, but compared to everything else in their discography, ‘Atlas’ sits in last place.
