Soilwork - Sworn To A Great Divide

Soilwork - Sworn To A Great Divide

“Sworn To A Great Divide” is far from being the best record of Soilwork's career but there's still enough going on to keep most long term fans happy. I'm interested to see how the newer songs hold up when the band tour here in May.

With a release this strong, I don’t see any reason why “Slowly Building Weapons” can’t move further up the Australian metal pecking order… so spread the word!

Sum 41 - Underclass Hero

Sum 41 - Underclass Hero

I’m of the opinion that a band may have reached it’s “use by date” if they’re drawing on the same musical ideas they were a decade ago. Unfortunately for Sum 41, it seems the well has run dry.

Strung Out - Blackhawks Over Los Angeles

Strung Out - Blackhawks Over Los Angeles

Although the album loses some of its punch in the mid section, “Downtown” is one of the strongest songs that the band has produced in years.

While “Blackhawks Over Los Angeles” isn’t as instantly classic as “Twisted By Design” or “Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues”, it is most definitely a return to form for Strung Out. I’m looking forward to hearing these tracks live!

Stealing O’Neal - Spin For Me (EP)

Although “Spin For Me” won’t set the world ablaze, it’s a solid debut nonetheless and I’m interested to see what Stealing O’Neal can produce next time round.

Something With Numbers - Perfect Distraction

Something With Numbers - Perfect Distraction

I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this record. I'd never been a fan of previous SWN records and I didn't think "Perfect Distraction" was going to change my opinion. But I love being proven wrong, especially by Australian band's putting out records as strong as this.
