Angels & Airwaves - I-Empire
The bottom line here is this. Delonge and co have talked this record up way too much and because
of that it was always going to sound mediocre. There's a few cool tracks
on offer but as an entire record it drops the ball. I sincerely hope
that the band pulls their collective heads out of their arses and let
their music do the talking in the future.

Baroness - Red Album
One final thing, make sure
you actually buy this record kids! Yes, I'm talking to all you downloading
fiends... The artwork on offer is stunning and it's courtesy of the
band's front man John Dyer Baizley who's also worked on
various records for Darkest Hou, Pig Destroyer and The Red Chord... so get excited already!

Soilwork - Sworn To A Great Divide
“Sworn To A Great Divide”
is far from being the best record of Soilwork's career but there's
still enough going on to keep most long term fans happy. I'm interested
to see how the newer songs hold up when the band tour here in May.

Dark Skies - Demo
I would've given the release a
higher score but at only three tracks in length I was left hanging for
more. All of Dark Skies' members have other bands (such as Melbourne
metal powerhouse The Abandonment) so I sincerely hope that they
have some time to write some new songs and release an EP in the near
future.

The Rivalry - No Face For The Mentor
“No Face For The Mentor” is the Australian metal record of the year, simple as that. The Rivalry are looking at doing one last show in their hometown in March 2008, and I urge everyone to head over and farewell one of the country's most explosive bands.

The Dillinger Escape Plan - Ire Works
The Dillinger Escape Plan
are in an interesting position. Their current line up seem to excel
at writing catchy rock songs, but they insist on throwing in bursts
of metal for old time's sake. Rather than desperately clinging to their
older fan base. TDEP should be confident in their abilities as
song writers and move forward in the direction that we all now they're
capable of.

Black Like Vengeance - Empty As The Day
At the end of the day, this is a release that’s rock solid and mostly
uncompromising, and although it does carry a few deficiencies, I'd
still rate it quite a few notches higher than a lot of other shit out
there, international or otherwise.

The Hot Lies - Ringing In The Sane
I honestly enjoyed “Ringing
In The Sane” more than I thought I would but overall the album is
mediocre at best. Better luck next time guys.

Punk's Not Dead - DVD
“Punk's Not Dead” has done
an admirable job of mixing the old and the new and is definitely worth
watching, whether you're 40 and still repping a mohawk or your 15 and
you've just discovered the genre.

Craterface - Demo
It sucks that their demo artwork
isn't available anywhere on line because the acne covered gentleman
who graces the front cover looks great! For the full scale Craterface
experience go and see the band live. I guarantee that you won't be disappointed!
