Baroness - Red Album
One final thing, make sure
you actually buy this record kids! Yes, I'm talking to all you downloading
fiends... The artwork on offer is stunning and it's courtesy of the
band's front man John Dyer Baizley who's also worked on
various records for Darkest Hou, Pig Destroyer and The Red Chord... so get excited already!

Black Like Vengeance - Empty As The Day
At the end of the day, this is a release that’s rock solid and mostly
uncompromising, and although it does carry a few deficiencies, I'd
still rate it quite a few notches higher than a lot of other shit out
there, international or otherwise.

Blackpool Lights - This Town's Disaster
There's nothing complex about Blackpool Lights. They're effectively a rock band writing and playing pop songs... and doing it damn well!

Black Lodge Sounds - Demo 2007
This is easily one of the most
impressive demo CD's I've heard in 2007, so do yourself a favour and
go watch the band pull these tunes off live!

Between The Buried And Me - Colors
I couldn’t possibly hope to
dissect a record of this magnitude but I will suggest that you
keep an ear out for a blues inspired section in “Ants Of The Sky”
as well as a genuine hill billie ho down which somehow turns into some
of the most epic and arena worthy metal I’ve heard in this lifetime.
If Queen grew up listening to Pantera this would be the end result!
2007 has already been amazing
year for new music but “Between The Buried And Me” has taken out
top honours. Album of the year!

Bring Me The Horizon - Count Your Blessings
The annoying thing about this
record is that these guys clearly have some potential. If they ditched
their over used mosh parts – seriously, Unearth could sue for breach
of copyright - and stopped caring about their appearance so much (go

After saying all that, this band
is fucking huge in Europe and will no doubt become a hit down here as
well, but for those of you who want to see a metal band and not a fashion
show, go and buy an Arsis record already!

Bedlight For Blue Eyes - Life On Life’s Terms
“Life On Life’s Terms” is by no means a ground breaking album, but it is a well written, consistent record – one which has the capability of pushing Bedlight For Blue Eyes a few spots higher in the current pop/rock rankings. If the band has the live show to pull these songs off live then I don’t see any reason why they can’t attain the same level of popularity of a band like Anberlin.

Blueline Medic - 42:19
My hat goes off to Hadyn and Richard
Buxton as the production on 42:19 is exactly what these songs needed
to breathe. Warm guitar tones and a mix which gives every instrument
the attention it deserves, they couldn’t have done a better job!
One of the best Australian releases

Behind Crimson Eyes - A Revelation For Despair
With 2nd single “You’ve Had Your Chance” impacting radio and TV this week you can expect BCE to keep building momentum. If you’re predisposed to hating this band based on their previous works, then you’re not going to take notice of anything I’m writing here. If however you choose to listen to this record with an open mind, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Boomtown Records - The Boomtown Showdown (DVD)
If you're a fan of any of the above mentioned you should definitely check out this DVD. The sound quality and camera work is as good as anything that a US based label has churned out lately and the fact that you're support an Australian indie should be incentive enough anyway!
