Local Resident Failure - A Breath Of Stale Air
Local Resident Failure surprised me with some serious talents and their debut is constantly engaging thanks to its hefty dynamics, not only musically but lyrically as well. As much fun as it is insightful, this is one that Aussie punk rock lovers will want to hear.

Lostprophets - Weapons
‘Weapons’ is still nowhere near what the band produced in their heyday however it seems as though they have included their mainstream pop attempts in a more respectable way. You can’t deny that Lostprophets are capable of some great hooks and it would be near impossible for fans of the band to not find a few things in here they will like.

Lacuna Coil - Dark Adrenaline
If you’re a Coil enthusiast, you can rejoice. They’ve paid respect to their roots and have put out their most explosive and dark record since ‘Karmacode’. It’s not woven from the same silky satin and does have a few frayed ends, but it’s a compelling quilt while it lasts. Wait, what? Lacuna Coil is back on the right path. Plus, a good R.E.M. cover? Come on, guys.

Lana Del Rey - Born to Die
‘Born to Die’ is a very good album and while Del Rey’s voice is more than appealing, the record’s real charm comes from its unique lyrics and production. The strong yet somewhat ambiguous imagery interlaced over defining beats is extremely refreshing. Throughout the duration of ‘Born to Die’, we are never allowed to ignore Del Rey’s self-doubt and importantly, her self-awareness.

Lamb of God - Resolution
It would leave a bad taste in the collective mouths of listeners if 'Resolution' failed to set the early tone in 2012. Thankfully, the aforementioned release presents everything one would expect. 'Resolution' digs itself in and revels in a dense sound that will put a smile on fans faces as they surely headbang along.
